The first panel of each comic this month is following the SPOOKY ART CHALLENGE!
I always imagine that Ace it trying to start fights with other dogs but screaming curse words at the top of his lungs. Sigh. I might hafto get him a muzzle. Doubt that would help with the barking though.
The first day was a bit crazy. The kids had extra energy. Maybe because I was a new teacher? Or because we’re getting close to Halloween. Whatever the reason it made me rethink my entire lesson plan. I thought what I was going to teach them was the basics for comics. Looks like I actually need to teach them the basics of drawing & art first.
Still, It will be like patience 101 for me. Between “Ms.Savannah! He stinks.” and “Ugh. I can’t do this!” the way I handle the class will depend solely on my ability to adapt to their needs and repeating myself. I knew teaching isn’t a gig for the faint of heart. I thought an after school program would be easier than an actual teaching position. I’ve got a lot to learn.
Other then that, I’m still excited and feel that this will be a lot of fun. Once the kids are used to me things should go much smoother. Also redoing my lesson plans won’t be so painful. I just wanna teach these kids that comics are fun.
